Valerie Rubinsky earned her B.A. in Journalism from Temple University in 2012 and her M.A. in Communication Management from Emerson College in 2014. Rubinsky’s research interests involve interpersonal and intergroup communication. Specifically, she investigates relational and sexual communication in and about LGBTQ, polyamorous, and other non-normative relationships. Additionally, Rubinsky studies memorable messages. Her past work concerns memorable messages about sex, sexuality, and sexual health, but her upcoming projects involve expanding our understanding of how the construct operates outside of specific contexts.
In addition to her scholarly pursuits, Rubinsky served in AmeriCorps where she organized and engaged youth in service-oriented learning activities. She enjoys art, hiking, and fan-fiction.
